Ted & Clare Ziemer Society
The Ted & Clare Society was established through St. Vincent Evansville Foundation in 2016 as a way for community leaders to continue the legacy of giving that began more than 145 years ago when St. Mary’s Hospital (now St. Vincent Evansville) was founded.
When looking for long-time supporters to recognize by naming the new society in their honor, Ted and Clare Ziemer were the ideal choice. This couple has generously devoted their gifts of time, talents and treasures for the past 30+ years to help advance our health ministry.
What is the Ted & Clare Ziemer Society?
Vision Statement: Engaging and inspiring leaders for the future of St. Vincent Evansville through Philanthropy and Volunteerism.
We are a social society with a philanthropic focus. Through our efforts, we identify funding priorities for programs and services within St. Vincent Evansville and St. Vincent Warrick and host social events to raise awareness and support of these needs. The Ziemer Society is a philanthropic society and members are invited to contribute $250.00 per person. The Society raises funds through memberships and event registration fees for ongoing philanthropy projects.
Since we held our kick-off celebration on September 21, 2016, here’s what we’ve achieved to date:
October 13, 2016 – Ziemer Society at Carson’s Brewery
Event proceeds funded Halloween costumes for children who were patients on our Pediatric Unit at St. Vincent Hospital for Women & Children.
December 23, 2016 – Several Ziemer Society members purchased and delivered gifts for children in our Pediatric Unit and parents with babies in our Newborn Intensive Care Unit. They helped bring holiday cheer to our pediatric patients and their family members.
January 27, 2017 – Ziemer Society Culinary Experience
Two of Evansville’s favorite chefs, Scott Schymik and Jayson Munoz, hosted an event and shared some of their favorite culinary creations at Sauced Restaurant in Haynie’s Corner. Event proceeds supported essential needs for pediatric patients, such as clothing and toiletries.
May 18, 2017 – Ziemer Society Gathering at the Home of Dr. Mark and Donna Logan
The Society announced our first-ever signature philanthropic project. The project will help fund equipment and materials for a sensory room within our Feeding Program at St. Vincent Center for Children. The Feeding Program assists infants to 18-year-olds who experience difficulty with feeding, including NICU babies, children with developmental delays, children with aversions to eating and more. The sensory room is a key component of the program. Children who receive sensory input prior to feeding treatments are better able to focus and participate in therapy.
September 28, 2017 – Ziemer Society Gathering at the Home of Rachel and Brian Spalding
Event proceeds will allow us to make patient rooms in our Endoscopy suite at St. Vincent Evansville kid-friendly. Donations will also purchase an iPad for our pediatric patients to use for learning and distraction purposes.
March 15, 2018- Ziemer Society Event to Benefit St. Vincent Evansville NICU
Event proceeds will benefit the St. Vincent Evansville Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by purchasing an AccuVein for our NICU babies. The AccuVein will allow our NICU staff to visualize veins in infants, helping to make IV sticks more successful on the first try. This will eliminate putting stress on infants while trying to insert an IV.
